If all the streets were paved with gold…
If you see Charlie on TV you would never imagine the start in life she had.
She comes across as a tough feisty middle-class business woman infused with a sexy feminine charm, immaculately dressed and articulately spoken. If you ask her how she describes herself she uses the phrase beer-mat entrepreneur and indeed she is, and yet with the most unlikeliest of starts into the business world. Charlie came from a background of dire poverty and at 18 with a baby to feed she first sold herself and later went onto become one of the biggest madams in the North of England.
Just like the five girls found murdered near Ipswich recently, Charlie started out plying her trade on the streets. Luckily she was one of a rare number strong enough to resist the pimps, drugs and criminal underworld that surrounded her and quickly rose up the ranks. She went from working in a parlour to running them as well as becoming a high-class escort who ran her own vice-ring. An astonishing track record in the industry to say by now she was just 21. But then Charlie’s career took a break, notoriously punctuated with a spell in prison, after which she reluctantly returns to the trade and within just a year builds a mini-empire. In 2002 she walked away from the chain of busy brothels she owned at the same time as figure-heading & narrating an ITV series. Since then she has co-hosted various radio shows.
Charlie Daniels is now the bestselling author of
Priceless; My journey through a life of vice. She’s also a self-styled media specialist on the sex industry and controversial adult issues, as well as a motivational coach & hilarious after dinner speaker.
